Proven, Multi-Layered Test Solutions for the Telecom Access Network
Performing in excess of 20 million automated test transactions per month, each of the four Regional Bell Operating Companies utilize Tollgrade’s LoopCare Test OSS, DigiTest test heads, and MCU channel units to remotely test their expansive POTS and DSL networks.

As these traditional access networks transition to a packet-based FTTx infrastructure, telecom service providers will be challenged with managing a hybrid of customers on both old and new networks without compromising today’s high standards for service quality. Status and Performance Monitoring for the Premier MSOs
With over 250 systems deployed worldwide, Tollgrade’s Cheetah Status and Performance Monitoring Solutions are heavily utilized by each of North America’s premier MSOs to manage the status of critical network components within their HFC access network. Often integrated or co-located with HFC power supplies, nodes, and amplifiers, a full suite of transponders provide the foundation for our Cheetah solution by locally monitoring critical functions of their associated network element and routinely reporting results to the CheetahXD host software via a variety of network connection techniques – including both proprietary and HMS standard protocols.

Tollgrade’s Cheetah Solution has also adapted to the continued growth of the DOCSIS infrastructure, by introducing a CableLabs-certified transponder which leverages an existing DOCSIS channel to communicate directly with CheetahXD via an associated CMTS, eliminating the need for costly headend equipment. Once deployed in the network, these same DOCSIS transponders can be upgraded to provide the industry’s first HFC-based VoIP test point – enabling signaling verification, delay, loss, and jitter measurements at a critical point in the network.
