(Multi-Service Access
System)
A high-density, modular solution for delivering traditional two- and four-wire services.
Tollgrade’s DigiTest® MSAS provides metallic
test access when no other means are available.
For ADSL line-shared applications, an optional
POTS splitter can be added for test access or
to be used solely as a splitter shelf. The MSAS
resides within the network—between the
subscriber lines and access elements—enabling
service providers to non-intrusively monitor
the line or perform intrusive upstream and downstream
testing. Both two-wire (POTS, DSL) and four-wire
(T1, HDSL, specials) services can be tested via
modular configuration of the MSAS.
The MSAS supports up to 192 two-wire ports per
chassis and can be daisy-chained, providing a
common test path interface for up to 2000 ports.
Multiple configuration options are available,
including:
• Splitter-only,
for two-wire circuits. The splitter is designed
to perform without crosstalk and ring-trip
problems that affect video service;
• Splitter,
with test access for two wire circuits; and
• Test-access-only,
for either two- or four-wire circuit applications. |
