  The National Cable Television Cooperative is a not-for-profit, member-operated purchasing organization. The Co-op's mission is to reduce the operating costs of its member cable companies. The Co-op negotiates and administers master affiliation agreements with cable television programming networks, cable hardware and equipment manufacturers and other service providers on behalf of its member companies.        
             
  The MFA Forum is an international, industry-wide, nonprofit association of telecommunications, networking, and other companies focused on advancing the deployment of multi-vendor, multi-service packet-based networks, associated applications, and interworking solutions.

  DSL Forum is a consortium of nearly 200 leading DSL industry players including service providers, and equipment manufacturing companies from around the world. Established in 1994, the Forum focuses its efforts on delivering the benefits of DSL broadband to a global mass market.        
             
scte   The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers is a nonprofit professional association dedicated to advancing the careers of cable telecommunications professionals and serving the industry through excellence in professional development, information and standards. Since 1969, SCTE has continually expanded its resources and services to meet the changing needs of its members in a rapidly evolving industry.

USTA is the premier trade association representing service providers and suppliers for the telecom industry. USTA's 1,200 member companies offer a wide range of services, including local exchange, long distance, wireless, Internet and cable television service. USTA's members provide local telephone service across the country, ranging from the very largest telecom companies, like Verizon, BellSouth and SBC to companies with only a few hundred customers.

       
             
nasdaq   NASDAQ is the largest U.S. electronic stock market. With approximately 3,300 companies, it lists more companies and, on average, trades more shares per day than any other U.S. market. It is home to category-defining companies that are leaders across all areas of business including technology, retail, communications, financial services, transportation, media and biotechnology. NASDAQ is the primary market for trading NASDAQ-listed stocks. Approximately 54% of NASDAQ-listed shares traded are reported to NASDAQ systems.        
             
ptc   Since 1983, the Pittsburgh Technology Council has been the principal point of connection for companies from four primary clusters of the technology industry that are represented by a critical mass of businesses in southwestern Pennsylvania including Information Technology, Biomedical, Advanced Manufacturing/Materials and Environmental Technology.
